⚠️HIDDEN JOB OPENINGS IN AUSTRALIA [05 OCT - 11 OCT]⚠️

Job titles hide more than they show.

A revenue operations analyst lives inside dashboards.
A compensation analyst models pay data every week.
A site reliability engineer tracks metrics before anyone notices a problem.

Not one of those titles says "data".

29 roles below, all built on data work, none labelled that way.

Most candidates scroll past them. The ones who read the duties instead of the title get the interviews.

Changing careers does not mean starting from zero.

Preetu brought solid professional experience, including client service work in Australia.

She did not throw that away.
She built on it.

She added hands-on data skills through a TDAI internship:
- Three analytics projects using SQL, BigQuery, Excel and Power BI
- Data cleaning, wrangling and exploratory analysis
- Dashboards and reports that showed what was going wrong and why

Then she did what client service had trained her to do. She explained it clearly and made recommendations.

Preetu is now a Microsoft Channel Specialist at Data #3.

Your past experience is an asset. Pair it with proof of new skills.

Congratulations, Preetu. Proud of you. 🥹

Here is Declan’s story.

Even with a Computer Science degree, getting a call back seemed impossible.

But Declan didn't give up. He came to us to build a real competitive edge.

His journey with us:
- Awarded a "Special Mention" in FSDP training
- Became a Certified Data Analyst
- Wrapped up 6 months of internship, plus a tech start-up role
- Completed 5+ mock interviews and career coaching sessions

Result?

He landed a data role at the Australian Bureau of Statistics!

Declan, you proved that focused effort gets results. 🎉

Five data engineering concepts that decide whether your pipeline survives the night.

Not theory. These are the ones that break production at 3AM.

1. Idempotency
Run it once or 50 times, same result. Use MERGE/upsert, not bare INSERT. Junior engineers assume success; seniors assume failure. One bad rerun can double your revenue numbers.

2. The network shuffle
Triggered by groupBy() and joins. Moves data across worker nodes — the costliest operation in Spark. Filter before you join. This is why your pipeline runs 4 hours instead of 4 minutes.

3. The 1:N fan-out trap
A JOIN on a non-unique key multiplies rows. A 100M-row table can explode to 50B instantly - spilling to disk, crashing clusters, burning cloud budget. Always verify granularity before you join.

4. Medallion architecture
Bronze (raw, replayable) → Silver (cleaned, deduplicated) → Gold (business-ready). Each layer has one job. When a metric is wrong, you know exactly where to look instead of untangling 500 lines of SQL at midnight.

5. The semantic layer
Defines metrics in code, so "Revenue" means one thing everywhere. Without it, two teams pull "Revenue" and get two different numbers - and nobody knows who's right. It's also the foundation for reliable Text-to-SQL.

The pattern across all five:
seniors design for failure, juniors design for the happy path.
