A special day for Assess Treat Record đź’™
On Saturday 10 October, I launched Assess Treat Record at the AMT annual conference, which also celebrated the Association of Massage Therapists’ 60th anniversary.
This was a proud milestone. Assess Treat Record began with an idea drawn from my everyday work as a clinical remedial massage therapist: making it easier to document care, follow clients’ progress and prepare for their next appointment.
The platform follows the workflow:
Assess • Treat • Record • Reassess • Plan
Our message is simple: “Use your hands to treat, less typing.”
I’m pleased with how the launch went. It was lovely to share what I have been developing and talk with fellow therapists. Alongside the launch, I listened to presentations about communication, professional standards, individualised care and massage research.
The day reminded me how important it is to keep learning and listening—both in the clinic and when developing tools for our profession.
I also owe a small clarification and apology. When speaking with a couple of people, I mixed up receipt requirements with those for clinical case notes. Paper case notes can still be used; I should not have suggested that electronic notes are compulsory. My comment about paper receipts needs to be checked against the relevant health fund’s requirements, rather than treated as a rule for everyone.
My apologies to anyone I confused, and thank you for helping me clarify this.
Thank you to AMT and everyone who took the time to speak with me. I’m proud of this milestone and looking forward to the next chapter for Assess Treat Record.
