Hate this 'misery guts' weather. Further hit or miss showers overnight and tomorrow. A mix of cloud and sun tomorrow. Showers may ease later tomorrow, but don't worry if you actually like this weather, a few more days of same to come yet. Let's try 18-19c again, although it fell a tad short of that today. Moderate SE/E winds. HIGHLANDS: Hit or miss showers overnight and tomorrow, mainly in east of region. Mix of cloud and sun. Light to moderate SE/E winds and around 14c

Weather Outlook, Illawarra and Southern Tablelands, Wednesday 14th October 2026

Sorry for the belated outlook for today. I was driving back from Taree. I think there was 30 mins strip in the entire trip that was dry. Very thick rain in Sydney and Northern Illawarra - 68mm in Bellambi vs 7mm in Albion Park. Today heralds the start of a week of 'nothing' weather, today is an example. Mix of sun and cloud. Very slight chance of a shower, mainly later this afternoon or evening. Moderate to fresh S to SE winds. A cool 18-19c. Next few days, rinse and repeat, maybe add 2-3c occasionally. HIGHLANDS: Mix of sun and cloud. Slight chance of a shower late afternoon and evening. Light SE winds and 12-14c.

There may be some rain late this evening, slight chance of an embedded rumble. Rain periods increasing early morning with a southerly change overnight. Mostly cloudy day. Chance of a thunderstorm in morning, but likely coast north from Newcastle will be taking the storm prizes. Rain should ease in late afternoon when a refreshed stronger southerly will arrive. Cool at 18-19C. HIGHLANDS: Rain developing this evening from west and south. Slight chance of thunder. Rain periods in east overnight. Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy. Rain or showers in east. Chance of a thunderstorm in very north, which may have heavy rain. Rain easing late. Around 17c

Weather Outlook, Illawarra and Southern Tablelands, Monday 12th October 2026

Sunny at first. Cloud developing from late morning. 50/50 chance of an afternoon or evening thunderstorm. Low moisture and west winds may be limiting factor, but this can also aid some severe wind gusts with any storms. If a shallow NE wind can develop this may also boost storm chances near coast. Quite warm to hot at 32c. HIGHLANDS: Sunny at first. Becoming cloudy from late morning. Chance of a thunderstorm in afternoon and evening, possible severe wind gusts especially in west and south of area. West winds strong at times in west. 28-29c

If you ever get a chance to go on Shellharbour Wild from Shellharbour Marina then do it!

Great afternoon on the water yesterday spotting at least 12 whales with a huge pod of 6-8 putting on a show near Bass Point.

My favourite pic of the day is the first one, if you're that couple standing on the shore at Bass Point in this pic let us know!

Weather Outlook, Illawarra and Southern Tablelands, Saturday 10th October 2026.

That sea breeze holding back temperatures today, even Bowral was warmer than Wollongong! A band of cloud developing overnight, may give a shower or two in the early morning, but do not expect too much. Cloud clearing early to mid morning and sunny rest of day. Light North winds early, turning west later. Much warmer at 27-30c, but highly dependent on no sneaky sea breeze. HIGHLANDS: Band of light rain developing after midnight. May be marginal useful falls in far west. Cloud clearing mourning to a day of mixed sun and cloud with a very slight chance of a shower in far west. Moderate to fresh west winds, perhaps strong on west facing exposures. 24-25c.
