It's been a funny week. All on the same theme. Website neglect! Once your WordPress site is live, it isn't neatly OK for the next decade. Like your phone or laptop, it needs care / updates. Else things may break or at worse get hacked and full of malware. Imagine an abandoned car. Rust & it won't start! Illegal for it to be on the road with so many things not working.
There are WordPress theme updates, plugin updates, WordPress itself needs updating and PHP (the software behind WordPress) needs to be manually moved along as well to ensure everything continues to work. Plus plugins can become abandoned. Plugins can sometimes not get on with each other. And times move on. E.g. Google Site Kit is a plugin that wasn't around years ago but it's pretty much standard now for all things Google & SEO. There are better things out there. Better security plugins. Better form plugins.
Prevention is definitely better than being reactive. No one wants to hear their site is unrecoverable or that you're now blacklisted, or your website form stopped working months ago.
We offer simple plans to ensure your site is cared for now and into the future. It's a no brainer really and it helps us website editors too. When we have to edit the site and we see so much is out of date, it's more risky for us to edit in case the site falls over. Being up to date is key for the longevity of your website presence.
Think your WordPress website is “set and forget”? Outdated plugins, old PHP versions, and security risks say otherwise. Learn why ongoing website maintenance matters.
