The SCHADS Award changes are now live.

From the first full pay period on or after 1 June 2026, sleepovers are calculated under the new JATS ruling. Work immediately before and after a sleepover is treated as a single continuous shift for overtime purposes, and the 15% night shift loading no longer applies simply because a shift adjoins a sleepover.

Are funding periods slowing down your team?

We were hearing a lot of feedback from our user base that some (not all) Plan Managers were requesting that invoices be split based on the funding period the support falls into.

We've just released Tasks in Astalty.

You can now create optional or mandatory tasks that sit directly inside a shift. It's a simple way to make sure Support Workers know exactly what needs to happen, and you can track progress in real time.

Set a task as mandatory and staff can't clock out until it's marked complete. A good way to make sure Participants receive the support you've promised them.

Support Coordination can be an isolating role.

You're often working independently. Managing complex plans, advocating hard for Participants, carrying a lot on your own shoulders.

So it was genuinely great to get in a room with a bunch of coordinators this week at Purpose Connect on the Gold Coast.
A big thank you to Renee Baines and the team at Purpose First Co. for putting it together. These things don't happen by themselves, the work that goes into organising a day like that is no small task!

Getting together doesn't change what's up in the air at the moment. There's plenty of uncertainty around where Support Coordination is heading. But it's a good reminder that you're not navigating it alone.

The team is really looking forward to more of these events with our community.

If a week of supports crosses two funding periods, most platforms send one invoice, and often plan managers will reject it.

That means your team chases it up, resubmits it, and loses days waiting on payment. Every single time it happens.

Astalty automatically splits the invoice at the funding period boundary. Period A gets its own invoice. Period B gets its own invoice. Both go out clean.
