Across Queensland, our team has captured thousands of videos, created hundreds of stories, and in the coming weeks we’re going to be showcasing the amazing sights and sounds Queensland has to offer.
We’re kicking off this series with a story on eco-tourism, shot and produced – on the fly – with Cinefly, a Queensland Government-backed and awarded innovation winner.
🌱 So why is Queensland focusing on eco-tourism?
Queensland has a long-term roadmap to grow its tourism sector in sustainable, nature-based, and culturally rich ways that support both environment and communities.
Key features of the Destination 2045 strategy:
• Targeting AU$84B in visitor expenditure by 2045, alongside new jobs and eco-tourism products.
• Delivering 45 new eco-tourism experiences across the state.
• Streamlining approvals, enhancing infrastructure in protected areas, and boosting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander involvement.
• Building on TEQ’s Nature-Based Tourism Strategy, which emphasises immersive engagement in nature, transformational travel, and greater profiling of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and Queensland’s world-class natural assets.
Stories like off-grid living, food forests, bush tucker, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural experiences are exactly the type of immersive, sustainable tourism Queensland wants to grow.
