Have you ever had to manually select a bunch of objects in Illustrator?

It can be a pain in the butt, so here’s how to make sure you only have to do it once.

1. Try ‘Select - Start Global Edit’ or use the ‘Select - Same’ menus and see if this works first

2. If there’s no other way around it, shift select your shapes manually

3. Then go to ‘Select’ and then press ‘Save Selection’

4. Give your selection a name!

Now if you ever need to select all these objects again, you can find your selection at the bottom of the ‘Select’ menu!

✏️ Here’s how to draw an object along a path in Adobe Illustrator…

…without the ends stretching!

1. Go to Window - Brushes to bring up your brushes panel

2. Select your object and hit ‘New Brush’

3. Make this an Art Brush, and press OK

4. Hit ‘Stretch Between Guides’ and move the guides past the ends of your artwork.

5. Press OK!

Watch the video and then go and thank Hannah Bacon for that tip on how to make the path overlap nicely!

Project Relight is here in Photoshop!

Here’s how to use it…

1. Download the latest release of Photoshop Beta under the Beta apps section of your Creative Cloud manager

2. On your image, head to ‘Layer - New Relight Layer’

3. In your Properties panel, play with the sliders to change the position, distance, intensity, diffusion and even the colour

4. Add more than one light source at the top

4. Use the ‘Close’ slider to change the forward/backwards position of the light

I can’t WAIT to see what’s being unveiled this year in Miami. Also, the presenter is Terry Crews this year! 😱

If you’re headed to Adobe MAX, a) see you there and b) make sure to sign up to my session(s)!

I hope you can forgive me Databis.io

Here’s how to bring back your live corner handles when you lose them in Adobe Illustrator.

1. Make a mark of where your rounded corner is using your rulers [CTRL/CMD+R]

2. Delete any extra path points from the offending corner using the Pen tool [P]

3. With your Direct Selection tool [A], drag your path points past the point of the corner.

4. Select the Shape Builder tool [Shift + M], hold down [ALT/OPT] and draw across the leftover material to delete it

5. Your live corner handle should now return.
