We completed another cabinet cleanup this past week, this time in Brunswick.

Making the most of lockdown, we were able to complete during the day instead of night.

Re arraging cables can be tricky sometimes especially when you have more than just data in the cabinet which is the case here. Fibre, TV, PayTV aswell as media players!!

Another cabinet clean up done and dusted, we managed to replace 6 power boards, 6!! between the 2 cabinets into one 12 port power board.

By relocating cabinets, even only by 2 metres, cable length may not be long enough which was the case here, so in order to join these data cables correctly, we used Highband module joiners to get them to the new location. No sparky scotchlock joins here!!!

We also extended there WiFi capabilities into the warehouse by installing 3x Ubiquiti Pro Wireless Access points.

Last night we had the challenge of replacing a communication cabinet that had been added to and added to until there just was no room.

First we had to audit what was working and what wasn't, when closing time came it was go go go. Unfortunately when these cabinets are added to, cable lengths are not always the same and are intertwined with each other which makes it that much harder to get it neat, but with our experience with these aswell as a helping hand from Jayden we smashed it.

Helping @8.securityservices with a job uo in Rochester for the past 2 days. It's always good to work with techs that know what they're doing!!

This service station consisted of a 16 channel recorder with 12x cameras which have come up a treat. The 3 external cameras have the ability to zoom in on an image to get the best and clearest view of an object as possible.

And as always the cabling is tied to Catenary wires and nice and neat.

Factory install had a little bit of everything, CCTV, Alarm and TV and access control

The Dahua CCTV install consists of 7 5MP starlight cameras, including an Auto tracking PTZ. Which allows the client to see what is coming and going with detail.

The Bosch alarm system covers all areas of the factory and can also be armed and disarmed with clickers (which can be kept in the car or attached to your key ring) and also your mobile phone, it will also notify you if the alarm has been triggered.

We also wired up his TV and installed an aerial on top of the factory.

The external keypad allows him to open the door with the need for keys!!

Hiding cables in these concrete factories are always difficult, so we have tried our best to keep the conduit work looking as good as it can be.

Built this cabinet from scratch, Its always nice to do a job from start to finish, (we don’t know terminate the patch panels) working as part of the IT team which supplied all components, we were tasked to not only build but to patch in all the ports as well to make it looks as tidy as possible. A big thanks to for the extra set of hands, and nick for allowing us the opportunity to complete this for you.

A job we completed for a good friend before lockdown.
We moved his original CCTV installation into a lockable cabinet, now the renovation has been completed. This cabinet also houses the modem, Foxtel and PS4. A HDMI matrix was added which allows him to use multiple inputs on his TVs throughout the house without all the messy cabling. For example, he can play PS4 on any TV in the house without the need to move it from the cabinet.
A TV was mounted in the bedroom and another in the office, so he can sneak away to watch the footy or play his PS4 without interrupting the rest of the household.

Replacement intercom for this block of flats in Prahran. Now with clear audio from the main call panel and the ability to unlock the front door from the apartment, visitors can be let in easily.
I personally like the brushed aluminium look of the intercom panel on the black backing plate. A nice touch to make it stand out.

It is interesting working on these older buildings. It is cool to see what cabling and hardware has been installed from previous decades. We always test the existing cabling for viability and safety, replacing where necessary to ensure a sound installation.
