🏆 WED RACING 17 — 2026 AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONS! 🏆

Congratulations to Luca Wasley, Ty Ha and Beau Harper on winning the Sports Maxx class at the 2026 Sportsman Enduro Karting Nsw Australian Endurance Kart Championship, held at Wingham Kart Track on 22–23 August.

Together with team mechanic Martin Wasley, the drivers battled through constantly changing conditions to bring WED Racing Kart 17 home for victory.

The weekend delivered both dry and wet racing, requiring decisions to be made on the fly as the team adapted to the weather, tyre changes and water-affected engines. The kart was dialled in extremely well in the dry and showed excellent pace throughout Saturday and into Sunday morning.

Rain during the opening hours on Sunday forced a switch to wet tyres and a major change in strategy. Engine trouble also resulted in additional pit stops, but the team kept fighting.

A huge thank you to Pete Galvin from Wright Karts Australia, John Bates from Nu-tek Racing, and Kart 66 for the loan of their toolkit. Without their trackside support—and Martin’s mechanical skill—our result would have been severely compromised.

Luca was a standout performer in all conditions, displaying outstanding skill, speed and composure. His performance demonstrated what dedication, commitment and passion can produce.

Brothers Tyhe and Beau continued their improvement in the sport with solid performances throughout the event. Both showed strong pace in the dry and continued to build their skills despite having limited experience in the wet.

We would also like to thank our sponsors, WED Group Pty Ltd and Symbolic Signage & Branding . Without their support, we would not be able to do what we do—and Kart 17 certainly would not look as good as it does!

And to Simone at Symbolic Signage—we greatly appreciate the time, care and thought that goes into our wraps. We’re just sorry we aren’t quite as good at looking after them over 14 hours of kart racing! 😬

A big thank you to Wright Karts Australia Endurance Division. Their ongoing support has been invaluable in keeping us on track and helping us extract the best from the kart.

We also sincerely appreciate the time, care and effort John Bates at NuTek puts into servicing our engines, both in the workshop and at the track.

Thank you to our fellow competitors for the close racing and sportsmanship, and to the SEK committee and volunteers whose hard work made the Australian Championship possible.

Last, but definitely not least, thank you to our families for their love and unwavering support. We could never achieve what we strive for without the team behind us, supporting us through racing and through life.
