Esoterica Glitchcore: The Beginner’s Guide
🤷 What Is It?
Esoterica Glitchcore is a fusion of mysticism, retro-futurism, and digital distortion.
Think ancient symbols + neon tech + controlled chaos.
🧙♂️ Core Vibe
Mystic signals (sigils, runes, coded shapes)
Glitch energy (RGB splits, pixel tears, VHS noise)
Hybrid worlds (old meets new, physical meets digital)
Perfect imperfections (errors as art)
🖊 Signature Look
Colors:
Neons, metallic chromes, thermal gradients, holographic glitches.
Textures:
CRT scanlines • pixel drift • corrupted holography • VHS static
Composition:
Asymmetry • central symbol • layers of distortion • glowing accents
🎨 How to Create It (Beginner Steps)
1. Start with a simple base image.
2. Add glitch distortion (filters, overlays, splitting channels).
3. Layer in symbols or shapes to create meaning.
4. Add color gradients + glow.
5. Finish with noise and texture.
🔮 What It Represents
A visual language about hidden truths, broken signals, and spiritual noise inside a technological world.
👣 How It Began
Esoterica Glitchcore started as an experimental fusion between mystic symbolism, digital distortion and of course, elements of glitchcore. DAT4GHOST developed the style by blending ancient esoteric shapes with futuristic tech aesthetics, creating a visual language that feels both ancestral and cybernetic. The early artworks focused on revealing meaning through glitches - treating digital errors as portals to hidden knowledge.
I am currently working on an ebook which I'll turn into a hard cover over the next year but I go quite deep into detail in the writings so I thought I'd do a little intro/one pager.
