"Waste management" is a thing of the past, and often, a question of convenience - which service organisation charges less for dumping to landfill? These days, the game changer will ultimately be about managing inefficiencies that may be misrepresented as waste, or excess.

SMEs can be at the forefront of this change, using it as a catalyst for bottom-line growth.

Today, it can be easy to dismiss sustainable practices as a ‘nice-to-have’ or something for SMEs to worry about when they’re larger and can dedicate time to supposedly tertiary concerns.

🌍 The Surpluss is happy to share that we've completed the Google Startups for Sustainable Development 2023 Impact Measurement Program! It helped us develop a clear understanding of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a methodology to define how we can achieve them. We can now measure our impact on the SDGs, track our progress over time, identify areas for improvement, and communicate our impact to stakeholders.

📊 This achievement provided us with essential tools from Google to effectively measure our progress towards UN SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).

💻 Integrating these new metrics into our platform will be seamless and significantly enhance our ability to monitor and report on our sustainability efforts. This will not only streamline our processes but also provide substantial support in achieving our goals and demonstrating our commitment to sustainable development.

Our team and intern Yousef from GEMS Metropole School recently visited the Al Rawabi Dairy warehouse, and we were impressed by the seamless integration of advanced technology throughout the facility.🏭

The warehouse operates with precision, ensuring every stage of the dairy products' journey is optimized for efficiency and quality. From automated inventory systems that manage stock levels to the unique needs of dairy products, every aspect of the warehouse was designed to enhance productivity and minimize errors. The tour also highlighted the dedication of the Al Rawabi team, whose coordinated efforts ensure smooth operations and prompt distribution. 🥛📦
